Type locality only.

Presently only known from the type locality.

The type locality was reported as being a slow running ditch approx. 1 metre wide which ran from a meadow. This ditch emptied into a 5 metre wide river the banks of which were overgrown with 'trees & bamboo'.
The depth of water in the collecting locality was 30 cm, this was clear but tinted yellow/brown. Water temperature 23°C, pH 7·5, GH 1, KH 3, 120 mS.The air temperature at 11h 30 reached 29°C.
The base consisted of a thick layer of mud covered with decaying leaves.
Werner commented - 'There were only small fish from 15 to 20 mm length, standing in small schools at the surface. At the same locality were captured small barbs with 4 blotches on the sides of the flanks.'
