| Type Locality | Between Dompen (also spelt Dompem & Dompim) & Tarkwa 5 km before the village of Tamso (Ghana). Collecting location S-Gh 00 / 2. Located approx. 2° W; 5,3° N. |

| Habitat |
The type locality was reported as being a slow
running ditch approx. 1 metre wide which ran from a meadow. This ditch
emptied into a 5 metre wide river the banks of which were overgrown
with 'trees & bamboo'. |
| Distinguishing Characteristics | Seperated from the other chaperi subsp. by the large amount of vertical bars which can be up to 10 in adult fish. |
